			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>To mark <strong>the official opening</strong> <strong>of the</strong> <strong>Wales Coastal Path on</strong> <strong>5th May</strong>, three celebratory events will take place across Wales at Roald Dahl Plass in Cardiff Bay, Aberystwyth Promenade and Flint Castle. The free public events will see local business, food and drink producers, community groups and entertainers come together to mark the opening of the 870 mile (1400km) coast path and promote what is on offer along Wales&#8217; stunning coastline.                             <strong>The Big Welsh Coastal Walk </strong>is a series of <strong>Ramblers Cymru walks</strong> being held over the weekend of the 5th May 2012 to coincide with the launch of the Wales Coastal Path. The Wales Coast Path will be a continuous path around the country available for walkers throughout and wheel chair users, cyclists and horse riders where practicable. <p><img title="Cors Gyfelog aerial photo" src="http://www.ccw.gov.uk/images/cors%20gyfelog%20sssi.jpg" alt="Cors Gyfelog aerial photo" width="470" height="314" /> Looking over the wetlands of Cors Gyfelog, across the road from the &#8216;Old School Guest House&#8217;, formerly an iceage lake,now a flood plain and a &#8216;site of special scientific interest&#8217; SSSI, a boardwalk snakes across, put in by the &#8216;Countryside Council for Wales. There,they graze wild ponies to manage the land. The land supports alot of rare habitats of plants, animals and marsh fritillary butterfly&#8230; the area covers 73.1 ha. The mosses form a watershed that feeds the Afon Dwyfach, a river running south that supports otters.</p>
